Cookie Policy

Short version: by default we only use what the site needs to work — remembering your language, your cookie choice and your order session. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run analytics on inmemoriamfilm.com. If we ever add either, it will be off until you switch it on, and refusing will be as easy as accepting.

Essential storage (always on)

These are needed to provide the service you ask for, so the law does not require consent for them (ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3); in the UK, PECR regulation 6 as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025).

NameTypePurposeKept for
im-cookie-consentLocal storageYour cookie choice, so we do not ask on every pageUntil deleted
im-order-token:{order}Local storageThe private key to your order, so you can come back to it without an accountUntil deleted (the order itself is deleted after 30 days)
im-current-orderLocal storageWhich order you were working on, to reopen itUntil deleted
im-themeLocal storageLight or dark appearance, if you chose oneUntil deleted
im-color-schemeLocal storageLight or dark appearance of shared controlsUntil deleted
im-siteCookieThe region you picked in the switcher (only the site code, e.g. en-gb), so we can offer a link back to that site. It never redirects you1 year
im-help-chatSession storageThe help chat conversation while the tab is openUntil the tab is closed
CognitoIdentityServiceProvider.*CookieSign-in session — staff only (the admin panel); families never sign inUp to 30 days

im-site is set only when you pick a region in the switcher (United States, United Kingdom, Deutschland, Magyarország). It holds the site code and nothing about you, is kept for a year, and is used only to offer you a link back to the site you chose. We never redirect you because of it.

Optional storage (off unless you agree)

None today. inmemoriamfilm.com runs no analytics and no advertising tags. If we add measurement, it will be listed here first and stay off until you switch it on.

  • Everything non-essential starts denied. We set Google Consent Mode v2 defaults to denied before any Google tag loads, and use the basic implementation: no data is sent to Google until you accept.
  • “Reject” and “Accept” will be equally visible, and you can change your mind at any time from the link in the footer.
  • No remarketing or audience lists are built from visits to memorial pages. Advertising platforms treat bereavement as a sensitive topic, and so do we.

Controlling storage yourself

You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. If you delete the essential items, the site will ask for your language and cookie choice again. Questions: privacy@inmemoriamfilm.com.
